Why are High efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) Filters expensive?
HEPA or High efficiency Particulate Air is a type of mechanical filter made out of continuous fine glass threads (glass fiber) with a diameter of less than 1 micron. The compressed density will allow the filter to effectively trap airborne particles that are in microscopic size like pet dander, mold, bacteria, and viruses. Unlike other filters that require special approval, a genuine HEPA filter must pass standards of efficiency set by the United States Department of Energy (DOE). These make the HEPA filter more difficult to be made and that itself will inevitably drive up the cost. Adding the fact that some manufacturer trademarked their HEPA filter design
HEPA filters systems require extremely dense media. This is how they capture such small particulates. They also have to move enough air to pull those particulates into the air stream and through the filter media. That takes a very powerful blower. Now powerful blowers can be found in vacuum cleaners and if they could use those they would be relatively inexpensive comparatively. However I dont many people want to sit and listen to a vacuum cleaner while they sleep. So this means they have to produce a small powerful fan that is also quiet. That's part of the reason the devices are expensive. The filters themselves require a very large surface area to allow enough airflow for a relatively small blower with a very dense medium. This is also in part due to the fact they need to last long enough to make them practical.
F007 is a household air purifier Pro with dual fans. The appearance is high-end, generous and elegant, giving people a strong sense of science & technology. Its CADR (clean air delivery rate) is 150 m³/h, covering an area of up to 12-20 square meters. It has a large-sized high-efficiency three-in-one true H13 HEPA filter. You can use it in your home, office, bedroom, study room, baby room, SPA room, and enjoy the freshness &; Purify the air with negative ions all day long. Passed CE, ROHS, WEEE, FCC certification and global patent protection.
